Safe Grad Minutes

Attendance: Mike Ingram, DJ Sibbick, Karen Sibbick, Jackie Wood, Wayne Hanks, Chris Gamble, Allison Imrie, Heather Imrie, Kristyn Weir, Deb Weir, Pat Madill, Cori Bezan, Declan McCormick, Sharon Maddison.

Review of last meeting, held on March 22nd, which included decisions on posistions. Currently, Deb Weir and Caroline Steppler are the chairpersons, Nancy and Cori Bezan will be our treasurers and Jackie Wood is our secretary. A MADD representative came out and with information on Safe Grad. He explained to us why they exist, how they have helped cut back on deaths on Grad night, etc.

The meeting on April 8th had a lot of decision making. Committees were decided on and include:

Food (Sharon Madison, Heather Imrie,) Bar & Ticket Sales (Dale Steppler, Wayne Hanks,) Security and Set-Up (Wayne Hanks) Door Registration (Deb Weir, Caroline Steppler, Lynne Wood, Karen Sibbick,) and Entertainment (Karen Sibbick.) A decoration and a medical committee are yet to be decided on.

Rules and regulations were discussed and handed out. A copy was also mailed to all graduates parents. A request to have the age limit changed from 21 to 22 was accepted, for this year only. The guest limit was discussed and will remain at ten guests per grad.

Mo Sound from Morden will be the DJ at the Safe Grad.

IMPORTANT: Permission forms and minor forms are to be handed into the school by 3:30 pm on the day of prom. Any forms that come in after this time will not be accepted and the Grad along with their guests will not be able to attend. NO EXTENSIONS!!!

We would like the insurance forms to be out VERY soon. To do this we need an approximate number of guests under 18, and guests over 18. This number is currently being obtained by a few of the grade 12 students.
